The post just seems like a scolding when I read it v.v She may have not meant for it to sound that way. And yes, it is intrusive but, in most cases, the person just wants to get to know you. Simply stating, within your profile, that you're uncomfortable being contacted outside of the site without your approval would probably be more effective and seem less mean-sounding >.< It's more of a widely-shared personal opinion than common sense. Personally, I don't mind when someone contacts me on other sites or finds my name on messengers as long as their intentions are good ^ ^ I suppose I'm like this because of two of my close friends who were both told off quite rudely when they had found and tried to add someone they wanted to get to know, on a social site : (
