Expectations

I'd Like to think that everyone has someone in this world for them. A soul mate if you will. Why is it that when you try to have a relationship that things arent as youve always dreamed they would be. It seems like in the past relationships Ive had that something was missing...maybe I expected to much. or maybe I wasnt looking in the right place. So heres my question. In order to find love should we just settle for a person who fits most of what we imagined our significant other could be? Is that all we can ask for? Or can we dream big like in all the Anime or manga we read that tell us we can? Im a hopeless romantic and Im just lost on this...I dont know what I should expect. Guys help me out here.

Well, ideally we all have our perfect soul mate that matches up with us. But just like in physics, electronics, math, etc etc. Basically the real world we live in, everything has its flaws. Even people. But the thing is, even if they don't match everything you want, you can find someone you love enough that you even love the fact that they don't have something you are looking for.

I'm a hopeless romantic myself and when I see anime/cartoon/movie that has a cute story or ending I want something like that. I also believe there is someone for everyone. But the odds of finding one person out of so many that will make you happier then the rest is really high. I think we should save our hearts if not for our dream person then for someone we can fall in love with who we trust and who we will good around. They may not be the perfect person in our mind but they our the ones that want our hearts and wanna give theirs to us. We shouldn't settle if we know their is better but we should give them a shoot who knows you may fall in love without planning to.

I agree with that. I dont think a relationship would work completely if everything was perfect all the time. Struggles help us grow. Love is a tough one for me...ive been hurt so many times not because of what I expected but for what I settled for... But sometimes I feel like if i dont settle then ill never find anyone. everyone in my family keeps saying "dont settle you'll find someone..Expect more from people"

The people you trust can hurt you the most. Giving your heart and love to someone is hard sometimes not knowing what they will do with it or if they will give theirs to you. I know how it feels to get her a lot of girlfriends have cheated on me but I know not all girls are like that.

I guess that what makes us unique is our ability to love and be loved..If we loose that love it is what we do thereafter that defines who we are as individuals..I wont give up on love there is someone out there we just have to find eachother I believe that with all the peices of my broken heart

you know alot of guys (at least the ones Ive dated) dont really think like that...heck they didnt really think except about one thing and that was how to get into my pants for lack of better terms right now. Its really refreshing to meet people on this site who know what ive been through and can offer me opinions and different veiws on the situation ^.^
