Easily one of my favorite shooters in recent memory. The single player had a pretty finely tuned difficulty (played on Ultra-Violence) and I really enjoyed how it remains somewhat cartoonish and lighthearted despite being full of constant violence, gore, demons, darkness and death. This is mostly because of Doomguy, who's quite entertaining as a protagonist. His kill everything mentality was mostly played for laughs, and it was pretty refreshing after so many mass murdering protagonists who are portrayed as every man heroes. The story never took itself too seriously, which was cool, I guess.
I also enjoyed the co-op functions in SnapMap, though I don't plan on creating too much of my own stuff. Haven't really cracked open the multiplayer though.

The new update is pretty boss imo. Being able to make Hell-themed levels and having the singleplayer weapon wheel in Snapmap is awesome. Currently working on a small series of single player levels with a style similar to Serious Sam that makes use of the hell stuff and the ability to carry a ton of weapons at once - so I'm hoping to make something super hectic.

Doom 2016 is so much fun. I just hope that they make sequel to it. I would love to see what they can do to top the first one.
