Getting In Shape

Lol One Punch man is deceivingly weak, if I could be that strong... I wouldn't mind looking like him. Yeah, a bit. Me, fat and fitness have an on and off relationship.

Yep everything sleepless said is solid. Nutrition and dieting is the core foundation of getting in shape so dump all the caffeine (soda especially) just cutting that out of your diet alone is a huge step. Also if you're afraid of working out in public be it going to a gym or just doing your cardio outside my advice would be to just push it out of your head. Typicaly most well rounded mature people don't judge somebody trying to get fit in a negative way. It is mostly encouraged and when you start seeing results and friends/family notice and compliment you. It makes you feel great and your confidence will rise even further. Some people are assholes and they may snicker or make a rude comment but it can be assumed those people are trash and imo scum to society. Just remember most of the people who see you trying to get fit in public are with you and want to see your success.

What are the sort of things that turn you off from your fitness goals sleepless? And how do you return to your path of glory? Thanks Pillow. :D Feel free to share your guys' exercise routines. It may help me or other people formulate ideas. >.<

What pushed me to work out in the past were superficial goals and that would be things like, I want to fit in to these kinds of clothes, look good, impress people, attract girls (mainly aim for a girl that I liked at that time), be center of attention and what not. I can tell you right now that these goals don't last long. So I would get fit, go out, party then get bored, get fat and play games. Find a new reason to get fit and repeat the process again. Now that I'm older and a bit more mature (just a tiny bit :P), I've found longer lasting goals that doesn't feel satisfying after one belt size. Fitness to me means more physical freedom. I use to play a lot of sports and I wanted to do that again. Rollerblading is one of my favourite activities and I want to ride flawlessly. I want to run at a decent pace for long periods and not get overly exhausted. The more you workout, the feeling of improving just feels so good. Right now, I'm regaining my strength at the gym and meeting my personal records from last year to soon surpass them later this year. I want to continuously improve to be a stronger person physically and mentally. Find a reason that will keep you going and always think about why you want it so bad to keep that fire burning in you. TL;DR - Find a long lasting goal or motivation that will always keep you going long after you've met your current goals. Always make new ones after achieving them.

Whenever i got overweight after highschool i cut it by doing high interval training. I wasn't really doing what you see people typicaly do where they do the usual workout splits of monday - chest/tri, tuesday - back/bi, etc. almost every day was cardio. Jog for a bit then do sprints. Because you're looking to typicaly cut weight but add lean muscle you do have to weight train and a good set of dumbells is all you need really. I did monday cardio and upper body so pushups x10-20, bicep or hamer curls x10, bent over rows x10, tricep extensions x10 for usually 4-5 sets. Then tuesday a bit lighter on the cardio and then legs doing goblet squats x10-20, dumbell lunges x10 each leg, calf raises x15, then dumbell squat jumps x10 for 4-5 sets. Wednesday was just pur cardio. Then thursday and friday same as monday/tuesday and saturday+sunday were days to rest. Not everybodies body is the same though and what works for some may not work for others but within a couple months i was comfortable with myself again

Thank you for sharing guys. I really like the idea of finding a fun activity. Like the rollerblading you mentioned sleepless. It is easy to forget as an adult now that things like that are still fun. I just wouldn't try anything involving balance near a street. I also have 3 sets of dumbbells at my apartment. End goal: Be The Hulk and see how many things can be smashed. >.> jk IMO Cardio and running seem like the biggest uphill challenges. One of my friends suggested that eating 5 smaller meals a day helped loose weight and boost metabolism.
