Pokemon Go

No - you know this already :(. My phones OS is too outdated and I can't update it. So like a responsible person I immediately purchased a new phone with a case and put it on my credit card.

@Hikifroggy Yeah!!! Theres a park next to my house. Talked to the people there. They were trying to catch a Staryu. Its also funny how you can tell they're playing Pokemon GO xD.

I downloaded this because some coworkers and friends were talking about it and to see what it was about, only to find that it was a reskinned Ingress. I had a feeling they would do something like this once they got everything mapped out. Ingress is a world-wide territories/king of the hill battle, you can see that in the Gyms on PkmGO. The weirdest experience that I had with Ingress was walking around my old neighborhood at 2am with 2 other friends to capture a neutral point. Some normal guy saw us with our phones out "Hacking" from his front door and walked over to us. He was really buff, probably drunk or high on something, and likely had a weapon of some kind nearby. He just walked up to us and started chatting asking what we were doing; he was really confused until we said "nerd things". Eventually he started talking about his car and said that if any of us saw someone messing with his car in the future, to tell him. He offered a $200 bounty on that info. Then he walked away. An hour after downloading the game I had caught 13 Pokemon and gotten to level 3. One of my friends hates my luck because I have 3 Gyms within a 3 block radius of my house. Now I'm level 6 2 days later and out of pokeballs. I haven't actually gone anywhere to visit pokestops yet. Whenever I leave the house the servers are down. I am only finding Psychic types at my house. That being said, I do have a 400+ CP Hypno now and over 80 non-unique catches. This game will be a lot better if/when they allow other players to battle each other without the use of Gyms.

Not to mention the other people who are just not in a good enough signal area to work with it, their country is not yet supported, or people who can only rely on wifi.

Thankfully it will only get better with time (More updates/features/functionality). At first glance, the game looks like it will be hard on new players who join a year from now. The ones who start from the beginning will keep getting stronger and start working together to lock down resources. Thankfully, it will also have a community of people who are brought together by the same social group and we will likely be able to share some items with new players. At least that's how Ingress was. It made it so that a maxed out player would still be able to play with and help out newer friends. If you don't know anyone playing it in your area, there will be sites that organize meetups, events, and gatherings. If your phone dies eventually, be sure to upgrade to one that is supported.
