@Yasshat It may like we got a new lifes everyday, but on the other side we also lost a thousand of life everyday too, so I think the number of souls is still the same as the beginning, idk.

I think of Buddhism the same way I think of all religions. It's great for people to have faith in something that gets them through life, but so dangerous when it becomes politicized and fanatacized. Unfortunately, even Buddhism hasn't escaped being used as a crutch excuse for people to kill others. :/

I'm a hardcore Taoist. I was born into a Taoist family and I follow in its teachings. Buddhism and Taoism are very similar, but our goal is to not achieve Enlightenment. It's about recognizing the individuality of everything and looking at things by their origin and natural state. It's about what you should and shouldn't fight for. Not every fight has a worthy prize. Such as arguing with your parents. Your end prize, a crying mother and a brokenhearted father. Is that a prize people will really fight for? But that's not to say that you shouldn't ever fight your parents. Because Taoism teaches you that fighting is one of the only ways to prove how serious you are. Death is part of our cycle, and many Taoists believe in reincarnation. But I believe that our experiences will converge into one after we pass away. Everyone's experiences, emotions, memories, converge from being to nothing to being again. It's about the cycle of life before immortality is achieved. But there can only be one immortal being, our version of God. When we pass, everything we've done, everything we've learned, converges into a new God, eventually become that immortal. Some quotes that kind of summarize what Taoism is: "To those unwilling to accept me for my true nature, no action is required: Just silently let them be themselves as I remain myself." and these are my own translation/version of them "I own nothing but my experiences and the blood in my veins." "Don't be blinded by senseless anger, because then, you will not be able to see what the world can be." and this one is an original "If a prize isn't worth fighting for, don't fight for it." Basically, Taoism is highly based on discretion, since discretion creates individuality and although it sounds contradicting, individuality breeds unity, the final destination after you've passed. This is really contradictory, especially if you know how much of a conflict loving person I am.
