Random thoughts...

It's nothing really to do with age or kids these days, as not at all kids are like me either. 0w0 It's more to do with own self, since it was the mistake on my part. I don't think education can affect this a whole lot either, and more to do with self-analysis and awareness of others too.

The rational part of the brain isn't fully developed until the age of 25. Age does play a role in rational thinking. An undeveloped brain cannot fully self-analyse. Education at school like math and science is only one facet of education. There is also intra personal education that is learned at your house from your parents and family. As an example: parents teach children not to interrupt people when they're talking. Parents often teach self awareness to their kids when dealing with other humans.

You may have misunderstood my post. I don't disagree with you at all, and I agree with you, clearly. I am aware that the brain isn't fully developed until the age of 25, but that was not what I was pointing towards in my post. When I stated that it doesn't have anything to do with age or kids these days, I meant that my mistakes are not relevant to all kids these days or of my age because they are not me either. I hope that clears it up.
