Deflecting and playing with people's feelings/thoughts/fears/insecurities is hardly a sub trait. In fact in my opinion its the best way to deal with an unwanted pursuer. One girl was trying to make out with me at the club once, even following me around the bar and dancefloor... so I whispered I'm already here with someone else in her ear... then I went to my friends and told them I was ditching a girl and I needed a fake partner. My friend (female) was happy to but my other friend (male) we'll call him Todd insisted we pretend to be gay to spin her right out. And we went all out. Todd and I started slow dancing and the best part was that after she saw us she started making out with another guy we knew who was quite hard done by the ladies. He was freckly and kinda weird.
