It might be the manner or the context that the statement is made. For example, stating that NBA players are tall in an elevator with a bunch of people you dont know, is pretty odd. However, if you are watching basketball with a bunch of people, it isn't. Any action a person can generally perform, when done so outside of it's normal environment, can be odd.
