RAID 0 is the fastest solution, but also the most risky. If either drive fails or loses connectivity, all data is lost. But if you have your OS on a RAID 1, and a program that needs high performance running from a RAID 0, it wouldn't matter if you need to remake the RAID and reinstall the program in a couple of months.
