Unless meeting irl, does actual gender and identity really matter? As long as they don't lie and try and start a real relationship.

I talked to a petite Asian girl on here for a year before I found out it was an American guy. Of course the lack of pics was suspicious. I cyberstalked them and figured it out for sure. They didn't actually try to start more than a friendship though. They have been going as a girl online for many years. We are good friends now. Some people have odd issues most people wouldn't understand.

Hmm... If they love cosplaying ^-^... why not post a pic with your nickname written somewhere. :3 all cosplayers that i know are proud of it and post their images almost imidietly.

People can be whomever they want online. I'm ok with that. I am looking for a rl relationship though and would like people to be honest with me if we get closer and talk about meeting irl. Even if a relationship is not practical, I'm fine with friendship.
