Online friends are as great as irl friends XD, distance can be a barrier but it should not matter if both parties make the effort to stay in contact

Its possible. I have a few online friends I've known for quite some time who are pretty important to me. Others were online friends I met through MO and we actually ended up being the same city and hanging out etc. Now we're all best friends. c:

I believe it depends on the person. I met my best friend off a friend's meeting site and I message with a few people here that are quite nice. My problem is time. I'm not always on here, so I don't answer messages right away which upsets some.

Totally possible. My bestie is someone I met over in a gaming forum. Talked about every single thing, personal or not. I find its easier to go all out in an online friendship, compared to my irl friends. Play MMO together and buy each other games. And I haven't even meet him irl even tho he usually comes to my area to buy some pc stuff. Friends over 2 or 3 years now, I can't remember.
Had a fight with him last month (we fight alot too, about stupid things), which is the reason why I suddenly became active in MO after being inactive since 2014. lol.

Ofcourse, I have a few friends whom i met online i already entrusted with my deepest secrets.
People online are often more approachable because of anonymity and the fact that even if stuff goes south with that person; the real world repercussions are minimal. Although i treat everyone regardless where i meet them like i know them in reality. I try not to be disrespectful towards people if they don't deserve it. Although i won't do anything online if i wouldn't do it in real life. If i meet someone online, believe i'll treat it exactly like i would in reality. Flings online are sad and i wouldn't date anyone online unless i'm commited tot he fact i'll see them someday.

i think anything is possible if you have the will and the positively to obtain it . Just dont find a friend that will always put you down so you lose that.

Way back on Myspace I met my very best friend, and to this day we have only ever met up once, and for only 7 hours as she lives far too many states away, but we still hold that bond of friendship to this day, and always appreciate a call to catch up on things.

Friendships? Absolutely.
Many people will meet many people online and feel closer to them than anyone online.
But, just like real life, it depends on the person and commitment to the friendship.
