How many more guys are there?

What are you doing here to stand out though? Let's say there are fewer girls than guys (I honestly have no idea); wouldn't it then be more important to be even more outstanding compared to other guys? I'm just not sure you are justified to call it a fruitless endeavor yet before you've given your 100%. For instance, by taking a quick look at your profile, I don't really find anything. Your bio, for the moment, is pretty empty – for understandable reasons, but a potential person checking our your profile would likely be disappointed. Then if I look at your gallery, I notice that there's no picture of yourself. Now arguably, some people are looking for a purely intellectual relationship and one of companionship, but here I'll assume that if you were to want to find a girl and commit, you'd want to know what she looks like; physical attraction is important in a relationship too, after all. Now, you also say that you're "not a person that likes to contact someone new all the time and try to hit it off". This is fair, it'd probably be really tiring. But the thing is, seeing as this is social media, you kinda have to be.. social. Are you expecting the other party to constantly be the one initiating conversation, or would it be more fruitful, as you put it, to seek out interaction with people you find interesting? Obviously this isn't directed solely at you – actually, a lot of guys seem to come on here and take issue with the lack of quality interactions that they experience on here, without first properly thinking through how to actually go about doing it. Just food for thought, since I'm putting off studying for an exam.

I'm not going to argue that Ginseng because you are correct. I haven't filled out anything in my profile, and I haven't uploaded any pictures. This was me more airing what I felt like I saw. I don't disagree with this at all because there is barely, if anything there. Truth be told I rather we continued the discussion somewhere else but that's on me. Again, it was more about what I saw from others, not what I personally experienced.

A lot of people, but given the way the site is, it's also a lot of people lacking social skills. There's a thread on this site called "Let's talk about pubes"; case closed. P.S. I didn't mean you personally, more that there's a ton of people on here with half-assed accounts who expect people to magically want to engage with them.

I can see what Tokuchii is getting at. He figures that since Anime is supposedly considered to be "Not for the norm" that it would be different or easier to find a romantic match than it would be for your typical dating site. Because usually you won't find women that cheat and only care about "strong and muscular" type of guy in the anime community. However this is still the internet and this is still a dating site even though it's not the same type as your typical ones. Anime fans are still people with desires. Anime guys want a women and search hard for it since it's not common. However anime women somewhat similar to regular women don't hunt for men the same way we do for women. The women here are still gonna have a bunch of guys see their pictures and post compliment comments on them as most guys on any other site would do. Women here are still gonna receive a bunch of messages and friend requests from a bunch a bunch of guys they don't know. They can't and won't respond to all of them and you shouldn't expect them too. Of course as males we are more proactive in seeking whereas women are not. That's why no matter what dating site you go to, there will ALWAYS be more guys than girls, especially here since many of the women have inactive profiles which only makes things here worse. I suppose we are all a little bit naive thinking that this is some sort of machine that can produce the woman that we want. I came to this site also expecting to find a woman to meet but in the back of my head, I know that it is unlikely. In the least, I would say that I would at least like to make a friend off of this site that I can physically meet, male or female and just chill. Since the anime dating community isn't as rude or lustful as others, this place does seem more like an anime community than a dating site. Which in actuality it might as well be just that. It's far too inactive to be a dating site and most people in the anime community will not find a relationship through this method anyway. Not saying it can't or doesn't happen, just not often. Anyway, I digress.
