If you say this as a joke then it's all good. People who really believe it are creepy lol

Wow okay I came here to read peoples' snide remarks about waifuism but damn does tulpa sound scary. What Neet was describing almost sounds like what people go through with sleep paralysis, actually.

sometimes maiotaku comes thru with the content
desu
now THIS is the kind of content I want to learn about on MaiOtaku, tulpas sound terrifying but also insanely interesting as a concept. I'd much rather hear about this than read some people roleplaying.

I'd say they are only scary if you make them scary, they are a part of your consciousness. They are usually used for meditation and reflections, now they are more commonly used for companionship. I think it's pretty awesome that our minds are capable of such feats to change how we perceive as reality.

That's a fair point J, though it feels like you're lowering your mental defenses and allowing your subconscious to create an entity that manifests itself off of your own beliefs. It's probably a moment of vulnerability, and if you subscribe to the idea of the supernatural then that's definitely an easy gateway for a malicious spirit to get hold of. Even if you don't, I think it's an opportunity for the darker parts of your subconscious to take hold of. People who struggle with self-harm or 'inner voices' probably shouldn't be advised to create tulpas for the same reason. (Aaaand now I sound crazy, I'm sure.)

I'm genuinely interested in hearing what anyone has to say about Tulpas. I see where you're coming from J but ginseng is right you're PLAYING with fire. Really specifically anime tulpas if applicable.

also for the record unlike other words that can be seen as negative or derogatory Waifu and Husbando absolutely started off as internet joke words (based on anime english) so even tho i'm a fucking WILD SJW i'm not going to feel bad about using the term waifu sorry y'all

I personally don't have a Tulpa, but I can speculate from research. I will say that there is danger in everything that we do, even swimming in the ocean has dangers of drowning, rip currents, and dangerous sea-life. Malicious Spirits that I've seen feed of attention, the more attention that I gave it the weirder stuff happens. That is due to giving it power, however if it's given less attention less potent things happen. The Tulpa is like a baby, it'll be bad if you feed it bad thoughts or poisonous intentions. The real deterrence I would say is that someone should truly know who they are before they try to Tulpa-Force. Again, as far as Tulpas go it's speculation from my position, but energy is energy.

I would say to definitely research them before trying it.
