Installment 21 (Other parts can be found on 151, 166, 214, 220, 246, 253, 260, 269, 271, 279, 294, 309, 321, 321, 322, 324, 325, 326, 327, 327, 327): “Okay guys. One kiss is enough to break the stalker charm.” Veruca summarily broke off the kiss. The ruckus outside suddenly grew quiet. Startled she turned towards the source of the voice. Pika was standing in the doorway of the bedroom with a salacious look directed at the couple. Arc was standing stock still, still recovering from the kiss. “It was just one kiss Pika. How did you get in by the way?” Veruca asked coyly. Pika rummaged in her pocket until she finally produced a small key. While she proudly displayed the key in front of her, “Arc gives a key to every member of his harem.”. That seemed to throw Veruca off a little. She looked at Arc and then at Pika. Settling her gaze on Pika she said “Oh. Why didn’t you give the key to me.”. “I was a little bit embarrassed about having the key. You didn’t ask either. I heard the commotion when I was walking home from Lux.”. So Lux was the special someone in Pika’s life, Veruca thought. What about Luc and Sunflower? Pika says while walking out of the room, “I’ll make us some tea so that we all can calm down a little.”. Arc and Veruca stood in awkward silence unable to look each other in the eyes. “Umm…that harem thing is just a joke you know…” Arc said uneasily. Heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway of the apartment. Arc and Veruca watched as Lux burst into the room. “Don’t worry Pika,” Lux said out of breath, “I’m here to save you.”. Veruca put a finger to her lips and shushed him while saying “I thought you liked Sunflower anyway.”. Lux stepped back, shocked, while looking at our protagonist as if she had lost her mind. “I like Sunflower like a brother would like a sister. I love Pika though. I just don’t know how to tell such an eloquent and smart woman what I feel.”. Our protagonist didn’t know what to say to a person as love-struck as Lux. Everyone stood in silence. “Do you mean it?”. Every head in the room swivelled to the voice. It was Pika. She was standing behind Lux with the tea tray in her hands. The librarian walked towards the big man, “I asked if you meant what you said.”. Lux looked back pleadingly to Veruca. The heroine gave him a look as if to say “What are you waiting for? Go get her”. Lux turns to Pika and mutters “I like you Pika…”. The diminutive librarian hastily put the tray on a table and ran to Lux. She threw her arms around his waist in an embrace. The rustic farmer looked down misty eyed at the woman that was holding him in her grip. http://orig01.deviantart.net/5df2/f/2007/042/f/1/hug_by_lokaian.jpg “I’ve always had feelings for you”, Pika said while burying her face in the chest of the man she loved. She was attempting to hide the tears that were tumbling down her face. Veruca knew those tears to be droplets of ecstatic joy though. The minutes flew by as the two lovers stood in their embrace in the middle of the room. Finally Lux broke the embrace and said embarrassed, “Sorry for the scene. I think we’ll go now. We have a lot to talk about.”. While hand in hand, the farmer and the librarian walked through the door. Veruca felt intense happiness for her two friends.

Installment 22 (Other parts can be found on 151, 166, 214, 220, 246, 253, 260, 269, 271, 279, 294, 309, 321, 321, 322, 324, 325, 326, 327, 327, 327, 327): While handing the purple haired woman a cup of tea Arc intoned, “We might as well have a cup while it’s here.”. They moved to the living room and sat in awkward silence sipping their tea. Veruca glimpsed Arc stealing a glance at her when he thought she wasn’t looking. She coughed noisily before saying, “I think we should be honest with ourselves-”. The door swung open again. “What the hell now!” Veruca called out despairingly. Oheylens staggered into the room falling unconscious at Veruca’s feet. The agent had countless cuts across her body and blood was pooling under her and staining her black uniform. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/f2/39/a6/f239a64f8b9271d544f9bc0b141e32ff.jpg The heroine took the injured woman in her arms quickly and ran out of the room leaving a shocked Arc still recovering from the eventful evening. Veruca was haring down the street while mumbling “No, no, no, no…”. She barely felt the warm, sticky liquid dripping on her arms as she carried her wounded friend. Veruca was in a daze. Her body had taken over and was leading her and Oheylens to the only person she knew could help. She stopped in front of the door after what felt like an eternity of running. Our protagonist slammed her fist repeatedly against the door trying to rouse whoever was inside. She was just about to hit the door for the umpteenth time when the door swung open. Loli poked his head around the door, “What’s with the racket Veruca…”. He fell silent when he saw Oheylens lolling in the heroine’s arms. Loli quickly beckoned them inside. He led them to his operating table and instructed Veruca to lay the wounded woman down on it while he gathered his surgical equipment. The doctor immediately started treating Oheylens when he had gathered everything necessary. He stopped the bleeding as best as he could and cleaned the wounds with herbs. Loli furthermore feverishly stitched the wounds closed. “Will she be alright Loli?” Veruca asked concerned. While wiping the sweat from his forehead the tiny doctor said, “She is very weak. Her injuries are extensive. What could have caused such injuries?”. The doctor was talking to himself though because the heroine had already left the room. She couldn’t stand watching her friend like this. Veruca took a seat right by the door of the room. She sat there wide eyed; worrying in the darkness. Loli operated throughout the night, fighting for Oheylens’ life. There was a couple of touch and go moments. The surgeon was bloodied when he exited the room and said “She is clinging tenaciously to life. She will most likely make it.”. Veruca let out a big sigh. It seemed that a great weight was slowly rolled off of her shoulders. Loli kneeled next to her and said softly “You can leave her in my care. Stop worrying and get some sleep now.”. Wearily our protagonist stood up and plodded out of the doctor’s home. The early dawn light met her as she went outside. She slowly walked on down the street to the house.

Sorry that it's a bit late. Here is installment 23 (Other parts can be found on 151, 166, 214, 220, 246, 253, 260, 269, 271, 279, 294, 309, 321, 321, 322, 324, 325, 326, 327, 327, 327, 327, 327): She spied a figure sitting in front of her home. I don’t want more drama, she thought as she grew nearer to her front door. She could now make out the features of the person. It was Arc that was sitting sullenly at her front door. “Just the person that I wanted to talk with” the smith said while springing up. Veruca pushed past him to the door. She fumbled for her keys under Arc’s intense stare. She is relieved when she finally opened the door and is able to push inside. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/70/d4/2d/70d42d4aaa6aede4b84bde43e3dead63.jpg When she looks back at Arc she notices a resigned look that passed across his face. The heroine couldn’t help but feel sorry for him so she signalled for him to come inside. “Thank you, thank you” Arc says profusely. Even though she didn’t feel like it she knew that she had to talk it out with Arc. They had to set everything straight after what happened in the evening. She flops down on her coach and Arc promptly does the same on a chair opposite of her. The smith fidgets nervously as he gathers the courage to say what he wanted. “Let me just stop you there. I know what you’re going to say.” Veruca interjects. Arc looked at her with his mouth agape. He made as if to talk but the purple haired woman stopped him by putting her finger on his lips. “I need to say this Arc. I’ve been watching you for the last couple of years, I know it sounds weird. I did it because I…love you”. Veruca thought of the repulsive stalker and the stately woman, Josephina, that the creature was in her former life. She had read somewhere in Pika’s library that stalkers manifested because of romantic regrets that were not resolved in a person’s life. Veruca didn’t want to have any regrets, definitely not in regard to her love for Arc. The only thing that the smith did was to sit stock still and stare at Veruca. She was beginning to grow anxious over what she said. Arc finally said “I’ve always loved all of the woman in the village. I never thought that I could ever restrict my love to only one-until now.”. He leaned over and pulled Veruca to him onto his seat. Their warm bodies were squeezed up against each other on the small chair. Veruca’s exhaustion seemed to melt away as she leaned in close and looked deep into Arc’s eyes, “What are you going to do now? Hopefully nothing you’ll regret.” “With you I regret nothing, darling.” He climbs on top of the woman. Safe to say they had a great night. The clubber looks agitated at the storyteller, “What Pops, you can’t be serious. You’ve got to let us in on the saucy, saucy details.”. “Young people these days.” The old man says with a sigh. “This isn’t one of your naughty videos which you play at the dead of night. This is a classy tale intended for all ages with a moral at the end.”. This elicits an almost synchronised groan from the crowd of young people assembled. They look pleadingly at the ancient story teller. In response the old man vehemently shakes his head. “I’ll go on with the story after you all have settled down”. The assembled crowd becomes eerily quiet. “Thank you all. So where was I? Oh yes, they were romantically involved.”

Installment 24 (Other parts can be found on 151, 166, 214, 220, 246, 253, 260, 269, 271, 279, 294, 309, 321, 321, 322, 324, 325, 326, 327, 327, 327, 327, 327, 328): Veruca’s eyes strained open. She looked at her clothes strewn all over the floor of the living room. Arc was uncomfortably scrunched up next to her on the couch. She frantically gathered her clothes. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bu4Ux0zCcAEGma-.jpg Suddenly she heard a voice coming drowsily from the couch “Where are you going? Don’t you want to stay a while?” Arc emphasis his words with a pat on a spot next to him. “I think we had enough fun. I’m going to go shower” our protagonist said while slipping on her clothes. The only response that the smith could muster was a muffled groan. Veruca padded barefoot to her bathroom. While being blasted with the warm water she thought about what had just transpired. She had never really acted so impulsively before but Arc awakened something in her-a love that she didn’t know she had in her. She wasn’t certain if she liked it. When she made her way back to her living room she saw that Arc was up but wasn’t clothed. “Could you please put on some clothes, Arc?” He looked quizzically at her. “We were naked for practically the whole evening. Why would it bother you now?”. “Because it is distracting”, she said while impatiently tapping her right foot, “and what if someone drops by unannounced.”. Arc put on some clothes, grumbling all the while. The heroine was happy to see him listening to her at least and she walked to the kitchen. She made a full English breakfast to celebrate the occasion. When the man she loved saw the breakfast laid out before him his eyes widened. “What a spread!” he crowed as he tucked in. Just as Veruca was about to sit down there was a knock at the door. She stood up, irritated with the disturbance. When she opened the front door she saw that it was Lonely Tsundere. The heroine thought it odd to see the messenger so early in the morning. Tsundere said in his usual downcast manner “I’m here to tell you that tonight there will be a ball at the town hall.”. She thanked him for the information and gave him a cup of coffee which he gratefully drank. “Just remember to be there Veruca. It would be a lot less interesting without you.” He walked off to inform the other people of the town. Our protagonist went back inside. Arc was still busy laying into the breakfast. “There is going to be a ball tonight, Arc. I would like it if you would come with me.” The smith began choking on the food. Veruca quickly moved behind him and used the Heimlich manoeuvre to clear his airways. Arc summarily spat out the food that he had choked on. Arc said still gasping for air “You just took me by surprise with that request.”.

The end of my story, Installment 25 (Other parts can be found on 151, 166, 214, 220, 246, 253, 260, 269, 271, 279, 294, 309, 321, 321, 322, 324, 325, 326, 327, 327, 327, 327, 327, 328, 328): Veruca walked into the bright town hall with Arc at her side. She wore a deep blue silk dress with a matching flower in her braided hair. As she walked on she was struck by how the small hall was made bright and gleaming for the occasion. Everyone from the village milled about in the centre of the building. Maria danced with Matt and Gamzee at the same time. Flamboyance danced exuberantly with her friends. All the eyes swivelled towards Veruca. A finely attired man stepped out from behind the crowd. http://media.tumblr.com/a84be33a7a0ebecb912e6269fe70f4da/tumblr_inline_mqhy6nBHvE1qz4rgp.jpg He bellowed “I am Prince Lunatic. I am here Veruca to thank you for saving the life of a valued agent of the royal family. You also rid the kingdom of a terrifying creature.”. “How is Oheylens doing, Prince?” Veruca asked concerned. “She is making a slow recovery.”. The Prince went on “It will be a while before she will be moving freely again. She has you to thank for saving her life though, so please name your reward”. Veruca stood pondering what she should ask. “I have all that I need now,” she said looking at Arc, “I think you should rather help those in need in the village”. The Prince duly accepted her request with a nod of the head. The dance continued in earnest. As the night wore on everyone found a partner. Sunflower could also be seen dancing with the prince late into the night. The End The assembled group of young people sat in silence as they took in the ending. One girl finally piped up sharply “How do you know so much about these people in the village?”. The old man slowly stood up and made for the door. “I know because I’m Veruca and Arc’s great-grandchild.” the old man said softly. Every clubber sat dumbfounded. When they looked around they saw the story teller was nowhere to be found.

Some of asked about the symbol of our house. They wonder why a creature such as this could represent a frozen hold. Well, there's a legend surrounding it. When the early wanderers first came to this land, they did everything in thier power to make it thier own. Yet, no matter how hard they tried, they always failed. It was as if the land was turning against them. One day, the wanderers leader set out to find a new and safer place to settle. When I came across what is now known as the frost arch, he was met by a fearsome creature. The creature had the body of a bear, the tail of a loin, and the head and wings of an eagle. The leader had never seen a creature like this, and was frightened to his core. It is said that whoever sees this "snow beast" will become frozen where they stand. Yet the creature didn't attack and merely observed him. Until finally taking to the heavens. The leader, whether by respect or fear, returned to his people. He explained the this land had great power and that it could be used if all were willing to work hard. And so many generations later our house still stands and at the center of our banner lies the creature who inspired our forefathers. Whether the creature was indeed real or not is still a mystery. But on that day is when our forefathers gained his strength from the snow
