who should become the next US president?

pippy
My support goes to Bernie. However, he is most likely not going to be able to make the nomination. He is idealistic and that appeals to me as I am too. Strive towards the perfect world while knowing you can unfortunately never achieve it and simply give it your best. #feelthebern

Gudmoore the flaw with the "Socialism Explained" cartoon is that we have successful examples of governments with socialistic policies in Europe. Am I going to up and move to one of those? No, and it has nothing to do with government policy and everything to do with me liking warmer climates. That simplified model does not thoroughly explain socialism, and put it this way: Ronald Reagan was a terrible president and every conservative after him has pretty much tooted that horn. Trump is tooting it as well with a little special snowflake syndrome and his own petulant child personality added in. Here's the thing about Reagan that makes him terrible: He TRIPLED the national debt. Obama has barely doubled it in the same time. Unemployment did not start falling until 1987 - 7 years into his presidency He lied repeatedly to the public about CIA smuggling of cocaine, supplying arms to what would become Al Qaeda and the Taliban, Iran-Contra and many other scandals. He claimed to "bring the Soviet Union to its knees" when the writing was on the wall since Khruschev was ousted - the Soviet Union fell apart as time went on and people got smart, information became more widely circulated, and they couldn't hold the control of the state they did in the 1930's and 1950's eras. Thus, Gorbachev essentially saw this and tried to modernize the Soviet Union into something like China is today, and nobody can argue against the fact that China of today is more tame than the Cultural Revolution China under Mao Zedong. With all of this said, while I personally disagree with socialism, I'm voting for Bernie, because he has a plan. Trump does not. He just blows hot air and says vague things, which I've tried to tally up. Here's the problem: The people behind the Republican party do not really want to reduce the National Debt. They only wish to do the bidding of the people who have bought them out, people like the Koch Brothers, GM, and the remnants of Cold-War era US. Therefore I cannot trust Trump or Cruz. Trump is part of the establishment. He hates atheists and women, and is quick to place scapegoats. Just like Hitler was. Cruz, I shouldn't have to say a word there. Hillary is not any better. I do not want Hillary. She is the champion of the SJWs, and will make everyone's life hell. Bernie is not part of the establishment. He's not going to take away our guns, he's going to let gays, trans people and such do what they want and pass laws that override the closed-minded ones in the South regarding them. He believes in state's rights. He's outlined how to deal with our broken educational system, has given a comprehensive outline of his economic plan and everything else. If Sanders fails to beat Hillary - I will vote for Gary Johnson. I know he has no chance of winning, but that's beside the point. He is one of the few candidates who doesn't hate people based on who they love or who they identify as, and he, like Sanders, has a plan that MAKES sense. I've looked at my father's tax returns from 2001-2015 - he, in all honesty here, paid MORE during the Bush administration than he did during the Obama administration. My family is lower-middle class. If that says anything about what's happened here, it tells me that its gotten ever-so-slightly better than us.

Yeah, and you fail to touch on the fact that heavily taxing the job creators, or as Bernie loves to delicately put it, "the rich," drives jobs out of the country. I am 100% against wealth redistribution. The government isn't here to give anyone free anything, you are wrong to think that way. The simplest way I can put it for you, is that American government was meant to be more of a referee of the American people. I, and countless other Americans are done having our money taken because others want it. To put it simply, earn your own. Ask a Liberal if a community should help, they'll agree. Ask them if they'll help specifically? They're either too broke or too busy. Those are a big amount (while not all, many really have good intentions) of Bernie's voter base.
