Anime Community Annoyances

1.)The Term Weeaboo/weebs. It seems to me that people try to isolate people regardless of sharing the same hobby. If they like one particular anime is that really such a bad thing. To me it is just another person that has given anime a shot and liked it and will hopefully keep the industry afloat. But alas we will always come up with a class system when it comes to things. Its all apart of the same anime loving community even if they prefer a few select anime over the Vast world of anime. 2.) The "True" meaning of Otaku People seem to bring this up constantly. They give other the true definition and say that is a derogatory word people call other. My thing is this, there have been plenty of word that were once derogatory yet over the years were embraced and changed into something more positive. This usually has to do with the fact it was derived in a foreign country and adapted to a new one. 3.)Boundary between Reality and Fantasy Over my many years of watching anime and getting to know people that watch anime and go to conventions. I have noticed that the boundary for some have been blurred heavily. Meaning they see themselves as an anime character living that kinda life. Sure to a point this is not bad and you can roleplay it out of your system. For some though they latch on to that character and truly believe it to be them, which can get weird and scary.I don't have a problem with it cause they can be pretty cool people but i just worry about them you know forgetting that the law of physic still apply in the real world. 4.) Altering ones appearance to look more Asian/Anime Character. This probably annoys me the most, and before you go on about person choice and whatever. I just find it creepy. To alter your appearance via plastic surgery to look like an an anime character or Asian seem crazy to me and when people say they are going to do it, it makes my head hurt. Mainly because why do that to yourself, its like taking being fake to another extreme. Learning the language is fine using it sometimes is also fine but surgery to look like something your not is kinda weird to me. Then annoy part here is that people cheer them on and some listen to people they will never meet in this life changing decision. 5.) The inevitable Dick measuring contest about Anime taste/preference. Do i really need to go into detail here. I mean there are some pretty Constructive debates that can end well with each other getting to know anime better. However, there are some that just get out of hand and become silly. For example, Sword art online debates in which the one who believe it is "shit" hasn't actually seen it. Now i have seen it and i do not particularly care for it because the aspect that hooked me was voided after the first half of the first season. My point being is how can one have an opinion on something they know nothing about except through second hand information. And there you have it things that annoy me about the Anime community. Love it or hate it , this is just my point of view. Most probably wont agree with me and that is alright.
