Educating children

I'd have to completely agree with Neet-one on public schools, at least in Georgia. I had the misfortune of attending public school in a rural area. It was a complete let down. The only reason I am somewhat intelligent is because of my mother. Maybe not all public schools are like this, but it won't last for too much longer until serious changes are made. It wasn't just the administation, it was the school board of directors. The teachers were never the problem as their hands were tied, and even then they went out of their way to try and compensate. So I'm going to put a giant check into the home schooling category.

Yeah, definitely a location thing. Some of the schools in my school district as well as the neighboring districts do extremely well. Better than most the private schools and what not. I know that in my public high school, granted I was in the AP/IB program, most of my classmates ended up going to Ivy League schools, UT Austin, and even Oxford. Even the non-AP people I know went on eventually got into pretty prestigious programs in the end. And we're not even the top ranked :p
