French and spanish both come from latin, so your teacher shouldn't get mad since both share a common linguistic ancestry and in phonetics some words are similar. Just practice spanish or listen to ppl speaking spanish, that will fix this from happening often. Its like dutch and german phonetics are close so sometimes if you don't hear it often or practice it. You will mix them up and end up doing both languages in sentences.
