Original Character discussion

@ kohagura Star Wars the Old Republic (SWTOR) has RP servers as well, you have the basic game and the payable one. The cooler gear you might want your character to wear though would require paying the subscription. Yes kohagura I feel second life is all okay and good, but yourself said that it needs a set existing environment to be able to create your own character, and others as well for interaction. Also don't you pay for a lot of its upgrades for aesthetics in second life?

@ jinsei if they manage to get a heart or power up by being in second life ... I am down to that. Otherwise .. isn't it complicated enough having one life to care about ... to bother with a second one? what do you do if your character had a bad day on 3d land ... cheer it up? :P

@boundbyluck I have never paid a single cent into Second Life... but then, I do create stuff myself, so that's a good reason why. XD There are freebies in the game, though, and if you're not too picky about appearances, you can get a lot of things free. If you have close friends, they might be willing to donate stuff too. Some people do have bad spending habits with SL, though. Particularly those who buy from gacha machines. I know one of my friends must have a gambling addiction since she'd spent over $100 a day for accessory gachas... Honestly I don't see the appeal of them when you can buy whole outfits for just a few cents USD. Generally outfit sets tend to be in the L$100(40 cents)-L$500(2 USD) range... with L$2000 being around $5-$7 USD. So it's pretty cheap, especially compared to MMO cash shop clothing. Then there is the fact that you can actually modify and adjust the clothing... so if you have any editing skills you can make a copy of it, and really make it into something completely unique. XD One of the best quality clothing stores sells their clothing sets for L$100-L$150, and I know one of my friends sells her clothing for super cheap like L$15... which is 6 cents. She makes super high quality clothes too.

@ kohagura Ah I see ... I really thought that most of the necessities in second life where sold. Not so much that you can avoid purchasing if you so wish. THanks for the info, now I know something new. And yes 100$ a day on a game like setting is taking it too far o.o ... those are some deep pockets she had.

Yeah, it kinda scared me honestly, because I used to have the same problem but with another thing called TinierMe(which shut down, thank god). It made me broke a lot, and because they'd release several new gachas every few days, I'd easily spend $100+ each time if it had a "Completion Bonus" or rare animated faces I really wanted... It was very hard to control myself as long as the site was online. @_@ Never had "gambling issues" before, but that must be because my parents never gave me financial freedom(and still don't), so I would spend kind of crazy with the money I earned in SL. I learned from my Tinierme addiction though, so I won't even bother with gachas anymore. It does make me really support anti-gacha though, since it really is the same addiction of gambling. Except it's legal for kids who, because they haven't the financial independance, haven't usually learned about budgeting/self control(and that's where you hear of kids making outrageous payments on their parents' credit cards and mobile bill).
