That's a good link. Thank you Yu.
Edit: Looking through the abstracts was interesting.
“between father absence and masculinity preference were mixed; across both studies, however, daughters who reported low quality relationship with parents during childhood showed lower masculinity preference.” - Boothroyd, L.G. & Perrett, D.I. (2008). Father absence, parent-daughter relationships and partner preferences.
“Women who rated their childhood relationships with their father highly showed a significantly stronger relationship between the proportions of their father's face and their chosen stimulus than other women” - Wiszewska, A., Pawlowski, B. & Boothroyd, L.G. (2007). Father-daughter relationship as a moderator of sexual imprinting: a facialmetric study.
According to the Jezebel article:
“Can you remember much from your time with your dad when you were little?
I have some memories. He spoiled me rotten.”
I take that to mean a favorable childhood relationship. So there would be a strong correlation that she would find someone with her father’s face attractive. Since the Westermarck effect did not take place, she found her father’s face attractive.
I can only read the abstracts. So I can’t check sample size for the study or any other factors that they took into account.
