Sounds like the same situation i had. I tried to be friends with my x after being broken up for about 6months, he kept telling me how much he missed me and stuff but i just couldn't believe him so i told him to stop talking to me. He got mad saying it's not what he wanted but i couldn't do it, i had to move on and find someone better, someone who wouldn't break up with me over a stupid reason like 'i was tired of the long relationship'. If you believe you'll find someone that's better, being friends with him will become easier and you'll realize you're over him. ^^ I hope this helped a little, similar situation and all :)

ugh ultimatums.. sure sign that someone dun effed up.....honestly and this is just my personal opinion, if you needed to use an ultimatum to settle that is not a good relationship. good relationships rely on alot of compromise, and ultimatums are just a forced choice between two extremes in other words BAD! NO! DO NOT PASS GO! DO NOT COLLECT A KISS! All jokes aside, i'm glad you are starting to move on from this person, and i hope for the best for your future and so on, and so forth, etc, etc, etc.

lol well trust me I have moved on. Its a suuper long story but to cut it short he said that dating me was a big lie, meaning that he never really liked me in the first place. He apologized after, but I didn't really believe him (still thinkin that he would take it back and all) And just as i thought i was over him BAM! First day of school and he txted me "Hey"! gurrrrr But besides that, I really wouldn't want to say that I was making him choose. I wanted him to really think about what HE wanted. And I knew that if I did talk with him further he wasn't going to get anywhere.

I think deep down you knew it was moving torwards an outcome of you two not being together, but you wanted someone to affirm it. Trust your instincts, they are strong :D Not only can they show us what we really want in life but they can protect us from the things that will really hurt us. Also if he breaks up with you after 9 months because he thinks your annoying and/or you don't have anything in common then it's not going to work when he comes back. Those swallowed feelings don't change.

Life's tough. You never know what decision is the right one, but I think you made the right choice of getting over him and moving on with your life. I don't think he is ready to move on as you did and that just isn't right. He was the one that ended the relationship and should have known what that meant. Tell him one last time that it is over and that you don't want to talk to him anymore and if he contiunes to persist ignore him. Hope you find true happiness one day!!

That is really good advice TheOneWhoWishesToFly.

You probably drove him nuts, and he wanted to get away from it. However once he was away from it he probably realized how much he missed it. Just a guys point of view here

Disagree joker. More likely what he missed was not her, but the idea of her. You have to decide whether you miss a person because of them, or because of the safety and security being in a relationship gives. @Kawaii So here is the thing you are going to hear from everyone more times than you can imagine before you are even legal to drink so feel free to ignore this too :). You have a ton of relationships ahead of you in your life. Each one is going to teach you about yourself, as well as others. Look forward to the next, never dwell on the previous in a negative way it isn't worth the effort. See what you can learn from it so that you have a better idea what you are looking for when the next one comes along. :)
