Would you date an asexual?

kyrastarholder
Are people really this ignorant? ASEXUALITY DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE NOT INTO SEX. It is the LACK OF SEXUAL ATTRACTION! Is this so hard to understand? -________________- most asexuals are just like the next person. Only apothisexuals and a few others are sex-repulsed.

"xynox Although you don't agree nor disagree. If it held no meaning.. you wouldn't have posted it. Sorry, neko. But sometimes you're just a narrow-minded idiot. Not everyone is into it. Get over it. And making young women feel bad about not being into getting humped is just pathetic. If they don't like it, they don't like it. Blaming it on conditioning is selfish. They most likely really ain't into it." ----------------------------------------------------------- I mostly just meant that while I agree with some of what he said, I don't necessarily agree with all of it or the way he says it which can come off as insensitive and insulting. I do find it hilarious as fuck. I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad for not having a sex drive or having a low sex drive and I don't know where you got that. The only issue I have is the currently popular trend of coming out with ever more obscure sexuality terms to describe oneself that 99.999% of the population has never heard of just so you can call them ignorant if they don't know it so you can sound like an elitist hipster feminist. Not everyone takes it that far, but some do. kyrastarholder, Why would you want to have sex if you aren't sexually attracted to someone? I don't understand that part. I can't get aroused to have sex with someone unless I'm sexually attracted to someone. Sure there are lots of variations and levels of asexuality. No need to get upset. But most asexuals I've met are just not really into sex much, even if they aren't particularly repulsed by it. So most people share that general view of asexuals as it relates to the original question of this thread. My ex gf for example was not unwilling to have sex on occasion, but it was more for intimacy and to satisfy me because her anxiety made it impossible for her to really enjoy it. So I told her not to force herself if she didn't enjoy it because that defeats one of the major points of having sex in the first place. It's a turn off if a girl doesn't crave sex from me. I don't want a girl to just go through the motions for my sake. Might as well just cuddle.

@vampireneko that's the whole point geez -__- you can be romantically and personally attracted to someone and be up for sex BECAUSE you are attracted to them as a PERSON. Not just for their body and two, A PORTION OF ASEXUALS EXPERIENCE SEXUAL ATTRACTION for the FOURTH TIME. Only very straightforward asexuals are completely non-attracted. I swear to god I hate the term 'hipster'. Feminist, yes. You don't believe that both genders should be equally treated? Elitist? Wow. I'm not an "elitest" for defending my sexuality. XDD And would you like to know the reason that society is largely ignorant to these terms? Because nobody has exposed them to it, and they haven't ever thought about it.

@lorddragna 1. He did make good points and I'm not attacking him personally. Can I not reasonably defend my statements? Stop making me out to be a dick, I don't have one! 2. How am I mentally ill? That's not only insulting to me, as I am perfectly sane, but also to people who ARE mentally disabled. :( 3. Who even ARE you?? XDD

What was the point of personally attacking kyra like that? She's passionate about defending people who might not have similar sexual impulses as "normal" people might, and that's totally fine imo. Like I said in my first post, a couple weeks ago, I just got rejected by a girl who said she was asexual, and you know what? The only thing that bothered me was my continued losing streak when asking girls out and not the fact her sexual preferences were the reason she wasn't interested in dating me. Overly complicating sexual definitions might be a minor inconvenience for some, but is it really THAT hard to do a google search? Plenty of times I've had to look up terms I don't know about, and frankly it's nice to know what it means once you do.
