I think this thread is becoming more like a "list ur fav animes" kind of thing.. to break things apart a bit I'll divide my list into categories & genres. best drama: Steins;Gate best animation: Redline (//best manga drawn: Berserk) best sci-fi themed: Ghost In The Shell best combat: Melee=Sword of the stranger, Ranged=Cowboy Bebop(//Especially the movie), Monstercombat=Hellsing best story: Neon Genesis Evangelion best plot twist: Code Geass best psychological: Monster coolness factor>9000: Darker than BLACK, Baccano, Samurai Champloo, Durarara!! funniest: Cromartie Highschool, Needless, Excel Saga best gaming: No Game No Life global nostalgia trip: Dragonball Z authentic: Mushishi DANCE TEAM: LUCKY STAR!!!!<3 worst: School Days [DON'T WATCH THIS UNLESS YOU'RE WEARING EARPLUGS & NO SUBS, OTHERWISE BE PREPARED FOR IMMINENT DEATH]

Sword of the Stranger was da best. I've never seen Monster but there's been a lot of good psychological animes within the past few years, Tokyo Ghoul, Psycho Pass and Deadman Wonderland to name a few.

Lets See... God- Tier Anime... Uploading..... Cowboy Bebop Rurouni Kenshin Princess Mononoke Outlaw Star Trigun Akira Gundam 0079 Ghost in the Shell S-Cry-ed Beserk More Recent: Spice and Wolf, Gurren Lagann, Baccano, Durarara!, Wolf Children, Psycho Pass, Kingdom, Black Lagoon, Jurmungand, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0... just to name a few. However I have to say the Best animation in a manga would Have to go to Vagabond in my personal opinion.
