Welcome! - Jealous of that Oculus Rift headset.
darkmajindrew
Thanks :) no need to be jealous you can get one as well for 300. but I would recommend to wait till the commercial version or at least till the hd version of the developers kit comes out. The one I got cost me $300 USD

Yup, I do plan on waiting. I'll probably need to upgrade my PC hardware was well, as I imagine FPS will matter a ton in VR games. I don't think the PS4's Morpheus will come close to Oculus's capabilities in the end. :)

yeah you want to stay in the 60fps to limit the motion sickness well at least that is how i find it. I might have to upgrade my video card as well. since the commercial version will be running at least 1080p and you need to be running duel monitors right now my gtx 670 does okay but not sure how well it will do when it has to output 2 1080p singles I guess I could always sli the card with another gtx 670.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Can't wait to see what kinds of games and innovation will come out of it.

Me either I hope it takes hold and moves us away from those crappy 3d t.vs. It is a interesting way to game. windlands is probably my fav demo game right now. Its pretty simple but its fun. Sadly watching yt videos on games for the oculus does not do it much service.

Windlands looks pretty neat, just looked at a video. But like you said, watching the videos doesn't show any of the VR experience. I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of first person shooters too, but I'd get more excited about an MMO or RPG of some sort on Oculus. And movies could be really awesome on it too. 3D TVs... I'm glad I didn't get one. I had a feeling that they wouldn't take off.
