Hi there, my name's Anthony, I'm 24 and from Birmingham, AL. I just joined a moment ago so I figured I may as well post in this section.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Have you been watching any anime series lately that you particularly like?

Lately I've been on a bit of a hiatus, the last show I watched then followed up with the manga was Attack On Titan. Since then I've been working on rebuilding a house pretty much from scratch. Soon though I would like to check out Kill La Kill. Do you have any recommendations?

Hey dude! Welcome good newbie, to MaiOtaku! Nice to meet'cha, Anthony. Name's Sean. I'm from Ottawa, Ontario ahah. Canada boys! Anywhats, that's pretty neat man :D. Attack On Titan I found is brutal, intense, touching and captivating. I haven't quite caught up with the manga, but the Animation is beautifulllLL. I know what happens later on thanks to a nice little birdy that doesn't care if spoilers ruin it for you, but eh. It's a good series ^^ Kill la Kill is a veryyYY... ecchi. Uh, nah man. Check it out for sure. It's action-y and has quite a bit of light hearted comedy - I'm sure you'll enjoy it :D If you're going to check out Kill la Kill, do try watching Gurren Lagann! Well, I'd recommend more - but I want to do it based more off of what genre you enjoy or whatever favorite series you like :p That's a neat project, though. How's the house rebuilding coming along?

Much appreciated, Attack on Titan is something that really sucked me in due to the fact I've spent the last 4 years in the Marines so in a way, I related life experience, trials and tribulations to that of which the characters were experiencing. The main reason I've been curious about Kill La Kill is because I've seen photos from the show all over the place, that and a good bit of cosplay over this previous weekend's con. Gurren Lagann is a great series, loved every minute of it. I could rattle off all of the series I've watched but it would probably take me a day to remember and type out and even longer for you to read haha. I went through the first 25 pages of anime when creating my profile and had a "Well shit...this is going to go on forever at this rate" moment because I kept finding series I've watched and enjoyed. Just to rattle off a few that I've enjoyed past and present: Outlaw Star, Candidate For Goddess, Read or Die, Rurouni Kenshin, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, GAD Guard, RahXephon, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Death Note, Mirai Nikki, When They Cry, Clannad and Afterstory (cried my damn eyes out), Yumekui Merry, Soul Eater, Bakemonogatari, School Days, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Lupin III, Big O, Nyan Koi, The Devil Is A Part Timer, Speed Grapher, Kaze No Yojimbo, Ichiban Ushiro No Diamou and I've already carried this on for long enough. Sorry about some of the titles having their Japanese names, makes it kind of obvious if I saw it subbed or not in some cases.

Hey, welcome to the site! I know you just named off quite a few anime, but I haven't talked to many people who have seen When They Cry, so what did you think of it?

You know I went in to it knowing absolutely nothing about the anime, I saw the art style and was like "Well, this looks to be another cutesy harem show". And then we get to the opening of the first episode, where Keiichi is beating Rina and Mion with a bat. I paused after the opening sequence and tried to figure out if I was watching the right show thinking, "This can't be right...they must have switched shows on me..." and continued to watch, sure enough it was right. The next confusing part to me was why everyone got killed off and then all of the sudden everything was peachy keen. Inevitably I finished and thoroughly enjoyed the series, it was a pretty crazy and confusing ride but once I went back and re-watched it I really enjoyed it. How did you take it?

I went into it knowing it was a horror anime and some of the things about Rika, but I didn't know anything else about it. I almost stopped watching after the second episode because it seemed like a typical slice-of-life show aside from the opening sequence and the mentions of death. But I kept with it and it got very intense pretty quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's one of my favorite series. The only thing that bothers me is the ending of the second season. They solved all the mysteries but then added in a few more just to confuse people. And just thinking about it too much makes the entire situation worse. Other than that though, absolutely loved it.

I haven't had a chance to sit down and watch Kai or Kaku yet, I suppose I'll have to get on that. So I'm assuming it does explain quite a bit more then? You know I think Rika's getting poisoned and stabbing herself to death was probably one of my all time favorite anime deaths. I haven't seen a whole ton of horror anime aside from Ghost Stories, Hellsing, Pet Shop of Horrors and Amon. At least that's all I can remember. Do you have any others you'd recommend?
