Can girls and Guys actually be just friends?

Majority of the reasons why there is so much failure with the plutonic relationship is because of 2 reason; 1 - someone catches feelings and doesn't know what to do with them/handle them 2 - someone assumes that because of the other's friendliness, they're trying to be more than plutonic.

Yes. Just because your the opposite sex doesn't mean that it can't just be just friends. I have a few guy friends that's are just my friends, and we get along just fine. We play video games together, we hang out, and its not awkward at all. It's just friends being friends. It's how you see the friendship is what changes things.

Yeah I don't see anything bad with guys and girls just being friends. I have a lot of female friends whom I consider just friends. As kichigai said two reasons why friendships just become weird is because someone doesn't know how to handle feelings that may build up over time, or that someone can assume that the friendliness of someone means they're trying to be more than plutonic.

Hell yeah they can just be friends, there is boundaries that you don't cross with friend that you do with a a love interest, I have to say I have a nice mix of guys and girls as friends but for some reason the girls tend to hit me a lot when i joke around.
