Saotome Ranma, a teenage martial artist, and his father Genma travel to the 'cursed training ground' of Jusenkyo in China. There, despite the warnings of the Chinese guard, they fall into the cursed springs.

According to legend, a demon is imprisoned inside the Masaki Shrine in Kurashiki, Japan. When Tenchi Masaki, a student at the local high school and grandson to the shrine master, accidentaly breaks the "seal", he discovers that it is not just a legend!
