Depends on what you mean by "beat the first version" When you "beat the game" on the first one it resets and switches a few things up; makes it harder. I have beat the first version of it but the second one I lost patience on at the time and never went back

It really is a great anime.. I'm still hoping there will be another season for it though.. I refuse to give up on this one, not after the unbearable waitings for ever episode while it was still airing.. Reminds me of when I was watching Mirai Nikki.. Same awful cliffhangers.. But, both amazing animes..
