I am not comfortable with any gore animes but I don't watch any hentai either. But reading hentai doujins are a different story however sometimes. If I were a normal girlfriend I'd be concerned that you're familiar with high school dxd but since I'm on season 3 I have no right lol. I finished lucky star on Friday and I loved it. I watched gurren lagann right after and loved it too. You have to have to have to watch them!
