I'm a bit of both, I originally had instructors but the style I wanted to play they never really taught me. So I basically ended up self teaching in the end for how I wanted to play.
If you ever need skype lessons or whatever I'd be more than happy to help.

I know what you mean. There are some guys that seemed nice and have an awesome personality...but then you get to know them and it's just grrrr....I feel like they fake being nice and once they think they have you...you see how they truly are and there is a major change of who they are or how they explain themselves. TT.TT
I sometime feels that my parents are right about arrangement marriage. But I don't want one...I wish true loves exists for everyone.

I'm definitely nowhere near a professional lever. It's just a passion of mine.
In terms of practicing you should play however much you want. I think the whole idea of having someone tell you how much to practice is kind of bogus because really the only way you'll improve is if you put in your own effort out of the desire to get better.

I like those sweet bad boy type. Those guys are such hotties that you mentioned.
I like the idea of those imaginary anime boyfriend...but I want the real thing. I just need to find a person with an awesome personality. I don't care about his looks or anything since we can get that fix or whatever. Find the yang to my ying is more important.

Largely for power chords it's just practicing them constantly. So, just play simple chord progressions that use power chords and if you have trouble you can place your middle finger over your index finger while playing to tighten the grip down on the strings.
I don't play many chords since I'm more into melodic riffs so I try not to strictly play chords, however they're a good way to learn.
Also, I'll be actually recording acoustically as the main instrumentation but I'll have electric stuff played over some of the melodies.

For the recordings I'm implementing:
Clarinet/Bass Clarinet
Violin
Mute Trumpet
Guitar
Keys/Vibes
Percussion
I personally play guitar, trumpet, a little piano, banjo, and I do a lot of vocals as well.
I'm pretty into music like Post-Rock, Math-Rock, and Emo. Although, I've been pretty into mellow electronic also but right now I've been listening to a lot of Toe.
