i haven't read absolute boyfriend but i loved clannad but i have to say clannad after story was the one of the saddest anime's iv seen.

Hahah. It was an order of knights during the Middle Ages that had some of the most skilled swordsmen in Europe.
They were eventually hunted by the very Church they served which had become corrupt and moved from Europe to escape persecution and disappeared into memory.
