Then I recommend Madoka Magica (I know it sound girly) It's a very dark magical girl anime with a large twist on your typical type of shoujo (12 episodes over all) or Higurashi no naku koro ni (Their are 3 seasons, well technically 4 I recommend the first 2 the last 2 are pointless and short) It is a psychological horror with a lot of violence xD But the story is amazing. (25 episodes each season)

Well I knew you didn't mean literally set yourself on fire xD I figured something was bugging you xD hmmm out of wha tyou mentions I've seen Trigun and one or two episodes of Air Gear. I'd happily recommend something, but what do you prefer genre wise? I like psychology horror most. Though I like many others.
