The thing offsetting me about plastic memories was not even that, but the placing was all over the place, and a lot of the characteristics of the main characters were so cliche and ugh.... well, if you put kiznaiver on there then watch it when you are full of romance and need a different kind of romance xD I hate the panty shots and stuff like that most of the time in general, at least when it is really about the panty shots. I mean monogatari series does that too, then you don't even realize it was a panty shot because the focus is different. Have you watched maid-sama? that is one of my favourite shoujo anime. Sadly I tried to start with kimi ni todoke but the animation of the characters is not my taste at all and I just can not focus on the anime itself. However last time I tried watching it was like a year ago so maybe now I will be fine with it. I also think that true romance in anime is really hard to find, one of my favourite romance stories ia actually not form an anime but from a light novel called the empty box and the zeroth maria. The movie with the mute girl is koe no katachi and it is REALLY depressing, but also very beautiful. It also has some plottwists in it which I really did not expect when I started watching the movie. One thing the two movies ahve in common is how good they can hook you onto the characters exactly, but that could be just my opinion. Oh man, I also started with visual novels once, but soon I discovered that 90% include sex scenes and stuf like that which really dissapointed me and I stopped reading them eventually. :( And isn't taking a month for a story to finish not exactly what you like? xD

Please don't get me started on plastic memories, that anime was like a clown fiesta for me xD. I still haven't watched anohana which is almost a sin for an anime fan not to have watched. Kiznaiver has a suprising lot of romance, however it is true that romance is not the main theme in this anime. I totaly get what you are saying with the loli thing, it is so irritating when a good anime suddenly decides to introduce a loli or shota as side or even main character. What would you say, what is your favourite kind of romance in anime? It is because these movies are so short that they can truly try to make the most of it. I do think that they are a little overrated and overhyped but I think you would also really enjoy them, especially because of the heavy romance theme (koe no katachi is b the way less romance but more of a how to deal with past and grudges and accepting yourself and stuff like that.). All this said, I can kind of understand why you would rather watch a series then a movie, I am too very reluctant to start a movie because of its schortness.

Hmmmm... I agree that it takes great characters for an amazing anime, but do not think that that is the thing which makes the diference between good and amazing. In my opinion the most important thing for an amazing anime is that every little thing needs to have a purpose, the purpose can be moving along the plot, showing different sides of one of the main characters, setting up for a certain situation, hoestly the purpose can be a lot. However, I see way too many animes which just to something because it seems cute but which has no purpose at all. Obviously, that alone is not enough for an amazing anime, pacing, characters and their development, overall fitting music, art and story and all these are also very iportant, but I think that it is the most important that everything has a purpose. Good examples of this would be the two relatively new and hyped movies kimi no na wa and koe no katachi. On a side note, do you watch eromanga-sensei? I heard it is a lot like oreimo but more fanservice. Oh and did you watch kiznaiver? The story reminded me a lot of kokoro connect and it felt pretty unique for my taste, allthough is is not as good as kokoro connect but only about average in my opinion, still a worthwile watch though. And no porblem for the long response, as you see I also write alot and actually the long and thought through response was exactly what I hoped for :)
