The story in "Next Dimension" starts shortly before the end of Saint Seiya where the main characters are fighting against the god Hades. The god is reminded of his past incarnations and starts reminiscing about the events that occurred in the last war between Athena and himself 243 years earlier.

In ancient history two factions of the Transformers, the good-willed Autobots and the evil Decepticons, arrived on Earth to continue their endless battle. The Autobots managed to seal the Decepticons and invented the Pretender shells to live among humans to protect them if the evil forces return.

The world is beginning to get back on it's feet and rebuild after the destruction that lied in Sephiroth's wake. Not all is going well, however, as a new disease known as Geostigma threatens the world.

The brothers Elric will consider the answers that are left once the Philosopher's Stone has guided their saga to and end. True sacrifice, the deep love of family, the cruel truths of life and death.
