Yeah, there was a similar ending in the first game, I think you needed a certain item that dropped from the Monocoin machine, then you got an ending where everyone escapes. It's just there as a fun little what-if, but yeah, mostly pointless.

Yep! If you complete that, you get a special easter egg ending where everyone escapes and survives. It was made intentionally hard, to the point where the devs didn't expect that people could beat it, and only put an ending there so that there was something if people beat it early on.

It's not, honestly. Nope! It's actually very, very, hard. Have you encountered the underground tunnel yet? It's before the first case even happens.

Yes and no. It has one actual ending, and one early easter egg ending that's ridiculously hard to get, and isn't canon whatsoever. Besides that, there's one ending.

That's good! Then you'll absolutely enjoy the show! :) Awesome! I look forward to it! It is an underrated series, for sure, but it's actually picking up quite a bit of steam, which is great! Sadly, your excitement for the mastermind might die down, or you might love the ending, either or. I've never really seen anyone take a middle-ground stance on it, either people loved it or hated it.

No problem! The art style was the main thing that threw me off of wanting to watch it at first, but holy hell I'm glad I gave it a chance. It actually has stakes in it, as opposed to Kakegurui, which for the most part throws stakes at you, then never follows through with them. If you found the other killing games unnecessary, then I really can't wait to hear what you think of the ending tbh. And if you haven't even had a death yet, you absolutely have to let me know what you think of each chapter, I don't have a lot of people to discuss DR with, so I'd love that! That statement about the mastermind is incorrect, btw ;P

Kakegurui is a decent show, but if you want a solid gambling anime, give Kaiji a watch. If you can get over the art-style, it blows Kakegurui out of the water, as far as gambling anime goes. I love the first game, it's just the fact that there are significantly more characters I either didn't care for, or outright disliked due to disinterest, as opposed to disliking them for things they did in the game. Also, all of the killers killed for crap reasons, and had no real emotional sub-level to their reasoning, unlike the 2nd and 3rd games, where basically all but like, 2-3 of them, had deeper meaning and reasoning behind their killings. There are some really solid ones in V3. How far into the game are you? Have you witnessed any deaths? Also, to answer your question without giving too much away, yes and no.

Yeah, I love Celeste, she was my overall favorite from 1. The first game honestly, when compared to the other games, has the weakest characters, which is odd, honestly. Yeah, Kokichi is a love/hate character, there doesn't seem to be a middle ground on him. Maki is absolutely an interesting character, you'll see more later, obviously. Kirumi (The Ultimate Maid) is a pretty solid character, made better by the fact that her VA also voices 2B from Nier Automata. As for the Mastermind, yeeaaahh. It's something. Not going to go into more details on it, but yeah.

1st game Byakuya/Celsete, 2nd game Nagito/Gundham, UDG Monaca, V3 Himiko/Kokichi. When you finish the 3rd game, lemme know your favorite/thoughts on the game overall.
