Oh I had the same feeling for Final Fantasy XIII I really couldn't get into the story x[ VII is getting a remake so maybe you can try it out again. I like playing VII crisis core. I fee so sad for Zack T_T. Yeah FFX has a special place in my heart the graphics, story, characters, music. I just love it!!! Haha. How far along are you in school? Thanks x].
