In Victorian-era Europe, a young boy loses everything he once held near and dear to a vicious plot. In his moment of death, he strikes a deal with a demon: his soul, in exchange for revenge.

Tamako is just a normal young girl whose family has been making mochi for generations. As her birthday approaches, she happens to meet a talking bird who claims to be a royal court attendant looking for a bride for his master.

The series focuses on a group of kids who form teams with which they battle one another using highly powerful spinning tops called "Beyblades" which are enchanted with magical spirits. Known in Japanese as Bakuten Shuto Beiburedo, or the much more exciting sounding Explosive Shoot Beyblade, the show began as a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Takao Aoki.
