Depends on which edition? The Penguin Classics edition of that book has 276 pages. Then again, I am a sucker for stories on human morality so I'm not sure if that page length is too long for you.

Well, if you've come across Faust, Heart of Darkness, or Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, it's along the same vein. Wouldn't want to spoil the story but in essence, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" uses the said picture as a symbol of the protagonist's soul. Each vice corrupts the picture but not the protagonist himself =]

Painting+ novel---> Oscar Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" ;)

Basically, I'm more of a novel, short story person. Poetry reminds me of standing in front of a painting for too long

Oh? Are you more into short prose then? Or perhaps epics like the Iliad/Odyssey?

A PhD at 21? That's quite a feat! I would hate Frost too if I were in your shoes; my favorite's "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley =) used to have it as my desktop wallpaper to keep me going through the day

I see I see. What made you decide to go down that academic path? Robert Frost could only take one so far...

Ah, I see. Austin's a very funky place; the liberal sibling of Dallas in the most extreme form. Are you planning to enroll into UoT-Austin as a full-time undergraduate or just for summer classes?

Yup! What made you move all the way from Mississippi, if I may ask?
