This is the series BEFORE the more well known international version "Yugioh! Duel Monster".

Game loving Mutou Yugi was given an ancient relic by his grandfather called the Sennen (Thousand-Year) Puzzle. He completed the puzzle and was possessed by the spirit of an ancient Pharaoh.

Not to be confused with the original japanese version "Yu-gi-oh!".

The gateway to another world appears suddenly one day and with its coming awakens two mysterious beasts of astonishing power. When the monsters appear to destroy each other, they vanish - leaving behind only the inexplicable pillar of darkness and the unanswered questions of the natural world.
