Views on Mental Illness

What is everyone's view on people with mental disabilities? What do you know about mental illnesses? What have you learned/heard about them?

Clinical depression for almost thirty years, now. Oh, and childhood baggage, amongst other things. Let's not forget my ADD, baby! Views? They can suck. Not the people, the illnesses. In short, get help if ya need and never identify yourself by your disability, rather by who YOU are.

I guess you could say I have ups and downs like anyone else. I like to stay positive. My main thing is that I need to learn to ask for help when I need it. If I don't, I'll get depressed.

You and me both. Sometimes it's hard enough to admit you need help, let alone ask for it. Hopefully you have a good support system.
