There are many pieces of fictional media that leave questions or do not make sense leading to fans coming to their own conclusions on what happened or the very nature of the show, book or game. What are yours? Mine is James Bond agent 007. As a spy, he is pretty garbage at his job. Constantly blowing things up and getting into fire fights. A real spy would be one of the henchmen or scientists being very quiet and not attracting any attention to gather information on a project or bad guy's intentions. So my thought is that James Bond is not a spy, he is a distraction. The real spy is being extracted from the situation and James Bond is running around making a mess and while that is going on the real spy is running away with all the documents and information needed.

Pretty interesting meta-analysis of James Bond. The very formula of the series makes him seem inept. lol I'll have to think of some. My mind immediately went to how the Sopranos ended. How Dexter ended before they did this New Blood season. I was glad they brought it back because I thought they were going to fix the ambiguous ending. And the story wasn't that bad but I think they messed up with the last 2 seasons anyway. Messed up big time with Deb. Anyway, the new and final season ended worse than the one before.

I think Bond, James Bond is absolutely the spy (if he was for real). The films have to be entertaining to watch, seeing someone sneak in silently, not engage with any bad guys, and then sneak out over the course of 2 hours isn't entertainment. Being smooth with the ladies, kicking ass, and escaping in a flurry of explosions is. It's like what Bruce Lee said in an interview... He has to consider the entertainment value of his fight scenes in his films, not how he'd fight for real. He made a point that if someone grabs your arm, you simply stomp on their foot, they'll let go, but that isn't flashy enough for film.
