Political rants

@hell_hound7 Well the main issue is the definition of pride in a biblical sense. Pride in the sense that it is disliked by God is the false sense of self importance. Yes we are all important to some degree, but one's importance in the grand scheme does not supercede another's. If a person keeps following the path of self importance, it can lead them to the conclusion that they are God which seems to becoming a more common philosophy these days. Now there are things to be proud of. Namely in actions. Say you save all the children in a burning orphanage, you are allowed to be proud of that. On the other side of the coin, if you ran around to people telling them that you saved the children and hold it over their heads, that is when pride is becoming a problem. You have this sense of self importance that is superceding the importance of those around you. The action indeed as important, but that still doesn't make you more important than those you interact with or the children you saved. I do agree that the sense of self importance is a rising problem these days, and it is not just limited to the pride movement. @yaasshat This is where things get interesting. So angels are divine beings, which makes it so they are bound to divine nature. We as humans are something in between divine and physical. This makes humans... Compatible with angels to some degree. That is where we get the giant Goliath and his 4 brothers which are speculated to be Nephilim. As far as why? Couldn't tell you. Perhaps they wanted to do as the humans were doing and ignored orders. Another possibility is that it was a curiosity of theirs.

No evidence for nephilim... And angels needed to breed? If they could, that would mean they were intended to. So... If the fallen angels could breed, they too could have children that would be damned for the sins of their fathers and yet they'd have no chance at redemption as mankind does? The nephilim were cursed because they existed, too? Being half human, shouldn't they have been given a chance or were they deemed not worthy, too? Questions.... Unanswerable questions!!!!

I wouldnt quite say the nephilim doesnt exist. I mean even if you wanna say that the bones of some giant creature resembling humans have been unearth we do have people growing up to 6+ feet and just being hulking huge. I wouldnt say its farfetched.

@yaasshat A Nephilim is more than likely to abnormal height and strength of the era. Goliath was something like 9' tall and was considered to be the largest of them all. So someone of extremely high degrees of athleticism and height above 6' or so would be something to be feared back then. Especially considering the average height was something like 5'3" for men at the time. We aren't talking about some Attack of the 50 Foot Woman kind of nonsense going on. As far as why they needed to, more than likely they didn't and just decided to. Designed to breed, not necessarily. When an angel takes human form, it very well might get everything a human has. When it comes to a cursed lineage, there is a reason why lineages are cursed and it has to do with culture. So a family lineage will have a culture passed down from generation to generation, in the case of the Nephilim that culture had eating humans in it and the worship of non-God deities. Had a Nephilim been raised by a Hebrew family or otherwise, there would presumably not be a curse on it.

Curses did exist though, in the case of Ham. Also curses in the case of solomon, and curses in the sense of everyone who God said would perish and be eaten by the dogs. Cursed lineage wise, i saw a video explaining this as well but dont wnana dive too deep into it because this is the politics thread and not the religion one XD

Didn't need to, but could? Why the "could" part? Weird if it wasn't intended. Pop a penis on and they're ready to go! lol Not sure about Goliath being a nephilim, seeing as they were supposedly wiped out...unless... someone on the ark had some 'splainin' to do!!!! Did say take two of every kind.lol
hell_hound7
@yaasshat they returned after the flood. Or some of them probably survived it. Again alot of these things arent explained. They sre explained in some of the apocrypha books but those are not biblical canon. While the author of the book is mentioned in the actual bible, it is considered heresy.

Grasssssssp!!!! *Ahem* Musta been strong swimmers. I like the mythos and honestly love to hear supposed stories involving nephilim. Ya know, to flesh out their personalities a little better. Just trying to see how everything fits.

I love the Nephilim mythos as well. There's been surprisingly little information about them when compared to everything else. I find their situation very interesting.

I find the fact the bible confirms magic, dragons, giants and all kinds of things and just drops it like its normal and moves on
