Game against depression

thekingofwomp
Haven't been feeling well lately, loneliness is getting worse now that my only pet is gone. I need a game to kinda lift the sadness off, something that works quick and efficient, Any ideas?

Have you tried modding games? Yes it's a long process but it pretty relaxing to see the end results of your creation imo

I always had a lot of fun playing games that are actually meant for children, like Ratchet and Clank or the LEGO games ^^ Most of the time there's this type of humor and you want get really frustrated, because it's not really hard to play. Especially when you put it on easy difficulty. Also, the HD package with Journey, Flow and another small game is really relaxing and beautiful. Btw, are you talking about PC games or XBOX, PS or Wii or something?

Maybe something with online multiplayer and probably voice chat? At least you'll be able to communicate with others. Other than that, I just play whatever I'm in the mood for. Maybe I'm in the mood for a nice story jprg, sometimes I just need to get some crazy action with something like DMC or Bayonetta or Metal Gear Rising. At other times I also like a good visual novel since it's slow and relaxing. Just play what's fun for you.

Katawa Shoujo & Narcissu ^ (Only recommend Narcissu if you want to be further depressed) But to stay in line with your thread: Pixel Puzzles Japan is a great little game on steam, solve puzzles of pictures, of Japan.. it's really relaxing, some calm / up beat music to add.. great if you want to just be alone and solve those almighty pictures of koi, temples, events, scenery etc.. (the more you do, the more it gets challenging, more pieces etc..) :D

I'm more of a story mode gamer myself. It's like a book with many branches of stories that you choose yourself step-by-step. The fun part is when you play it again you play better and it has a better story.

To be honest, gaming won't do much of anything other than potentially postponing depressive symptoms. It sounds more like you need someone to talk to or to help you go through it emotionally.
