Ugh I fucking hate Christianity

bonfiyah
Personally, I can't take religion seriously. When I hear it mentioned, I either laughed or simply don't care. I laughed because they are trying to have me be seen in the wrong yet they are trying to enforce it on me and say shit like I am going to hell, etc. There are some pretty nice Christians but so far, I have encountered the asshole ones.

Ok... Soooo.... If someone's a Christian, they're ignorant and hateful (Pot calls the kettle what?)? I mean, that's all I get out of this. Blah blah... I hate Christianity...blah blah...I'm being forced to belive and or follow said religion by default....blah blah...China is great. War's based on religion? Ha! It's a damn guise. Man will use anything as leverage if he thinks he can gain something useful in return, religion or not. I do however detest zealots and on that I'm sure we can agree. I do not endorse hate or bigotry under the veil of any belief. Also, sure I see Christian influence, but I don't see Christian rule. Give it time and things will change as they are and have been.

Never said I worshipped China. I used them as an example. I'm not even Communist...

Not every Christian is like that. I dont hate honosexuals, i dont think that people who dont worship my god will burn in hell, i dont force my beliefs on anyone personally i can care less whether you you believe in god or not. But really to say you hate the entire religion? I get its your opinion but come on your gonna attack another's belief

@ Elder, Dude, if you want to get your message across, you don't do it out of aggression. This whole "Ugh, I fucking hate Christianity. " thing is only to start a flame war. At least, that's how most will view such statements and then of course your whole point is lost. Also, I'm curious, it always seems like most atheists (my ex for instance ) started out as Christians (here in the states anyways), but then go directly to "If Christianity failed me, it must all be a farce.). How does or did it happen for you? I'm definitely more in the agnostic camp, by the way.

Seabears, as far as I care I don't dislike you, but I do hate your religion. Your religion has killed millions of people. The multiple crusades, the inquisitions, the forced conversions, the Christian terrorists ( Anders Breivik etc) For the record, Yaasshat, It happened for me because I tried to kill myself three times from age 9-12. On the third time, I almost passed out and saved myself at the last minute ( I tried short drop hanging at age 12... ) It was then that I came to realization that nobody was going to save me. I became atheistic. And while I follow some Buddhist philosophy, I don't believe in nirvana or reincarnation necessarily, I see myself as biting back at Christianity - it bit me and continues to be a problem point in my life, defending myself. And self defence is not against Buddhism. The precepts for life are to not cause unnecessary physical harm, to kill, steal, make false statements with the intent to cause harm, and then do not get intoxicated ( I do not follow this one as it is not forbidden in Zen ). Some Buddhists are agnostic, but I'm strictly against omnipotent beings. Shinto is something I do occasionally practice as well, but the kami in Shinto are more akin to spirits than gods, they have spheres of influence but not absolute potency. Cory, go away please. Nobody likes you.

I pretty much agree with Cecil's views. If I had to pick a Westernized religion that tends to be above the rest, I'm quite fond of Judaism. As far as Eastern religions go I'm not disciplined enough to take on Buddhism and favor Taoism above all. Just a reminder though, even the less aggressive religions can be manipulated-I.e. Shinto. Part of Japanese propaganda during the Pacific War was to convince their soldiers they were dying for their their Emperor, who was considered kami. Originally it was fed to their masses they would be following Bushido code battling until death however I do not think suicide attacks of that nature are honorable deaths per Bushido.

Sorry to hear that you went through tough shit like that at such a young age. But,don't you see your approach as being adverse to your "belife"(aka, moral system)? It's not so much false statments, but I'm getting at the aggression issue. Also, you're entirely correct, only you can save yourself. We have a litany of tools at our disposal in this day and age, but on a personal level, I feel that there has to be something more.

Bushido is totally separate from Shinto. As for the fascist propaganda, that is all old fashioned nationalism. As much as I don't like the Abrahamic religions, I do respect Jews, because they've barely fought with anyone compared to how many times they've been targeted throughout history - their plight echoes with me. As far as my attitude? Nope. I don't. I've tried for years to let go, but I keep finding reasons to renew my hatred for Christianity. As I am neither powerful nor part of something powerful, I fight with words. I vent my rants to inspire others who remain silent to speak up. Its affected my life enough that I've actively campaigned against it. There may come a day when I can lay it to rest, but that day is not today. I enjoy watching it burn itself into the ground. Fallacious fairy tales.
