Does gender and sexual orientation really matter to you?

As for the original question; Yes as far as a relationship goes for me (I am male, only interested in females). Beyond that, gender and orientation mean nothing to me, until you make it an issue, to include "gender roles" despite the few occupations that it does matter.

When it comes to others it does not matter to me. I am a hetero male so I prefer hetero female. My last partner was bisexual but not poly so it never really came up much.

Eh genetics people its a simple concept (more or less) a woman can not become a man or viceversa. They may identify and try to change but physically they can not reprogram their genetic structure to that of another gender. Should they be discriminated against? No ... because its a personal choice with many sacrifices and its their body and problem. Should they identify themselves when with the opposite sex? If you are a straight person who likes the opposite sex, or a gay person/lesbian who likes the same sex then yes it does matter. the only way it doesnt is if both are bi or willing to experiment. friends can be any of the above though. ^_^

one day i sat there and thought about it for a very long time about what defines love and marriage and happiness if my own way... i still conflict with trying not to label and some of my morals but if i could find everything i wanted in someone i think i would be happy regardless of which gender they are. but the chances of being able to find someone like that are pretty high.

No. I don't care. If your a cool person, then your cool with me. Those you have to like anime, manga, and going out side to have fun once in a while.

In my particular case, a polite yet prideful yes and at the same time, an overwhelming and resounding no. Like I say in most forums like this I can't really afford to be too picky.

I personally want a heterosexual relationship that conforms to gender norms. Doesn't make me a bigot. I accept all lifestyles. It just works well with me.
