Does anybody still cry?

robscene
I get choked up but I guess I'm just too tough to cry. Wait- wasn't I crying about snakes yesterday? http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll287/21wq/ponies/pp_sad_zpstnpd5v45.gif They don't have any arms...

I haven't really seriously cried in a long long time, but I've gotten like teary eyed from time to time from like super sad movies, frustration, or when I'm getting really scolded. But yeah, serious gut wrenching crying is something that I haven't done since like... elementary school? I don't think crying is bad, even for guys, since everyone has different ways of handling stress. I just don't really cry like that as a release

@xueli That's true, it's basically our body releasing chemicals(which can harm you to keep in), and it's natural for everyone. There was actually a time in... I forgot if it was Greece or Rome, that it was considered manly for a man to shed tears after a tragic event.

I tear up from time to time when watching or reading sad stuff, which happens to be something I love (hurray for utsuge!) However, I don't remember ever bawling. I don't think it's a sign of weakness at all or about being tough. Emotions are one of the coolest things about humans, not a mark of shame!

Everyone cries. People say it's good for you to let it all out; I don't believe that. Personally, it makes me feel weak. Then again, there at times when I feel less human when I'm incapable of crying at a "conventional" time. I do cry sometimes watching a particularly touching scene in a film or of the sort, but it's something I rather not do.

I've actually started getting more emotional as I've matured. When I was younger, I often found I had to force myself not to cry, and eventually I thought I couldn't do it even if I wanted to. Nowadays, I can get misty eyed at emotional scenes, and I cry if something terrible happens to me or if I get to tell something that means a lot to me to someone I love.

a person should not be ashamed to shed tears when something upsets them. It is wrong how society expects women to express their emotions and men to bottle it up. Of course there are women that also do the same and it's unfortunate. Other than to keep your eyes from drying out or to dislodge and remove something in your eyes, it is truly a great thing to appreciate the written word, dialog within a show or the action within a movie. It displays an appreciation for the emotion provoked by something really should be considered a lost art within any media that pulls at your heart strings. We are not machines, to cry is to be human. I cry every time I watch Clannad or the last episodes of Witchblade. But I cry when I become deeply frustrated or angered by someone. I'm just sensitive. Always have been.
