Just curious...

I'm really new to the forums and am only just now getting serious into discussions, groups, boiards etc in regards to anime/manga.. I've always wondered though.. Why don't Japanese anime's look Japanese? The characters do not look Japanese or Asian at all. Only one that comes close that I've seen is Rurouni Kenshin. Is it just because it looks more diversified/better on television? I'm sure I could google this but I figured I'd post here and see what people think or know.

You serious about Rurouni Kenshin. The only I seen is an American Cartoon. King of the Hill, with Kahn Souphanousinphone. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/cJgB9231S50/hqdefault.jpg

Well in Kenshin I just mean the eyes are at least more similar to Japanese. Maybe it has something to do with the style and that it's actually based in Japan as well https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRi_c3vGdhdZNgShNDChjriImzm9ITi_oae0UseBo9wB-lyW0Sn
