You. Are. REJECTED! ...again.

nageki
The worst rejection is with someone you are already kind of with and have a thing for. You think they feel the same until they tell you otherwise and start dating another person. Doesn't matter if you've known them 5+ years.

I've only ever told two guys that I like them and the first guy that I told rejected me for a pretty good reason. I decided to tell this guy that I liked him on the day before I moved... And that was pretty much why I was rejected. He wasn't into long distance relationships (And little did I know that I wouldn't be all that into them either in the future). He was very nice about it and I understood. I think it just made me feel better that I was able to tell him how I felt. All in all, not the worst experience of my life.

That's the best possible outcome for sure. I had a gal confess to me over the Internet. Was pretty sure she didn't understand what a long distance relationship means. I was nice to her and patient. Took about a week for her to realise what she was asking and we because friends.. which, honestly, was all that we were in the first place :)

I had to reject someone myself because I'm not into long distance relationship. If I'm gonna be with someone, I want them to be physically by my side for as long as possible. That said, I have nothing but respect for those couples who do manage to pull it off.

Unfortunately, it took me an actual experience to realize I didn't like long distance relationships xD... It doesn't bother me now, but at the time it was the absolute worst. He was a great guy, but neither or us ever had time for each other because we had different schedules and lived in different time zones.

I sort of got rejected by someone due to distance. They said they liked me and they'd really like to date me if I lived closer but don't want to do long distance relationships. Don't help much she already had a boyfriend anyways. Seems she was thinking of leaving him but probably decided that wouldn't be wise. I think I could have talked her into doing it if I wanted to, but even though I don't know the guy that just wouldn't be cool.

I've actually only been rejected once in real life. (The girl in my frienzone post actually). But I've tried online dating and I've never gotten a message back. Whats really weird is people well send winks or click a button saying they want to meet up, but no one ever messages me back. Now THAT has added up to quite a lot of hurt.

@tg_bottousai There's that thing about online dating where people, and mostly girls I'd say, will expect waaaayyy too much from it. Unless you perfectly match with that grandiose image they have built up in their head, they wont even give you a chance from the get go. We all know that self introductions are bogus. You can say whatever the hell you want and it's either already been said or just a plain lie. That's why people mainly go for the looks...

I got rejected by a girl one time, the next day she was going out with one of my best friends. I didn't know how to react.

@tg_bottousai Yeah. I'm not through figuring out what "winks" mean myself but I think it's kind of like a nod of recognition for your efforts? A "like" almost? Something less than an invitation for conversation and something more than mere approval: they bothered to let you know. As for the no reply thing I find that to be the most distasteful part of online dating. Dating is a highly social activity. If you can't politely tell someone that you're not interested at this time then you need serious work before looking for a relationship. The flip side is that I've had interesting conversations with the people who DO message back - even if we're incompatible.
