Anyone Here Do Artist Alley Stuffs~

baristacat
I was wondering if anyone here opened an artist alley booth before? I would like to hear about people's experiences in opening one and the dos and don'ts. I've been always thinking of getting a table, but not really sure what I should be preparing, like prints, buttons, types of fan art, things like that. Also maybe tips on how to create an appealing booth?

Hi Baristacat, I do artist alley with my group Clash of Weapons and I will be doing it with my new group Class M Comics this September as well. Ask away, I'd be happy to help :) First things first it helps to have a site and/ or a fb page for your art.. Example: website - http://clash-of-weapons.blogspot.com/ FB Page - https://www.facebook.com/ClashOfWeapons?ref=hl Do you have a online portfolio?

Sorry, for the super late reply. I want to do some fanart/original works. How many pieces should I prepare and amount of prints should I have before a convention?

Hi baristacat! First off a heads up, you want to keep at most a 50/50 ratio for fanart/original art. Preferably more original than fanart. Some cons are very strict on that :/ As for prints it depends on how big the con is. That said, it's always better to have too many because then you can just sell the extra either online or at the next con. Good sizes from my experience are- bookmark size, 4x6 - 5x7, 8x10, 11x17
